With five drivers lined up for this coming weekend’s SmarTrack Series Elite races at Donington Park Truck race event, ‘Convoy in The Park’, the team have been working tirelessly to resolve the software issues with the Jaguar Project 8 race cars. Testing will take place at Donington on Thursday (today) and all being well the grid will increase from the Silverstone four, to five at this weekend’s event.

Vic Lee is hoping to defend his position of Series leader and is looking forward to another one of his favourite venues.

“We’ve had a lot of teething problems with the cars but over the last few weeks it looks as though the team we’ve got rid of the gremlins and hopefully we can see some close racing as we had at Silverstone” said Vic.

Series founder Graeme Glew commented, “It’s been hard work getting Series Elite off the ground, and this year has certainly been a learning curve. The mechanical aspect of the car appears to be bullet proof but the sophisticated Project 8 electronics have proved to be a bit of a nightmare for us”.

The schedule for Series Elite is:

Saturday 10/8

  • Qualifying 10.20
  • Race One 17.10

Sunday 11/8

  • Race Two 10.25
  • Race Three 17.05
