Series Elite, the new race series exclusively for the over 40s drivers launched earlier this year has unveiled the first Series Elite Jaguar SVO Project 8 race car that will be campaigned this year in the inaugural running of the series. The Series has confirmed, SmarTrack, the multiple award winning stolen vehicle tracking systems brand, to be title sponsor for the Series.
The race spec Jaguar SVO Project 8 was unveiled today at Autosport International, the annual pre-season motorsport event at Birmingham’s NEC. The stunning V8 5000cc race car with a top speed of around 200 mph, is fitted with an FIA roll cage including FIA approved Corbeau seat and harness, Lifeline fire equipment and the necessary safety equipment for a high specification race car. It is the first of the grid being built by Jaguar and converted to race specification by Slidesport’s Mark Jenkins. As well as showcasing the race spec features, the car was revealed in race livery ready for the first round of the series at Brands Hatch in May. The next batch of cars is due for delivery in February, putting the series on track for a minimum 12-car grid.
Series Founder, Graeme Glew, announced a new title sponsor for Series Elite at the Autosport International Show, with SmarTrack coming on board in a multi-year deal, encompassing branding on each of the cars, trackside, in the paddock and across marketing communications.
Smartrack Series Elite launched in March last year and since that time organisers have put together an a full 12-race calendar, developed the Jaguar SVO Project 8 car for the one-make racing series, and are close to filling the grid of drivers for the season ahead.
