Brands Hatch last weekend was the scene of the debut of two of the latest SmarTrack Series Elite Project 8 race cars, as on four occasions across the two-day meeting the cars laid on demonstration laps for the public to see a little of what’s to come.

Drivers and the public were welcomed to look around the Series Elite racers, including a third, Moorgate Motorsport Finance backed race car, and also a road going version of the stunning Project 8.

Against the stunning backdrop of the former Grand Prix venue, the Project 8s roared into life, making a glorious sound from their 5.0-litre supercharged V8 powerplants. Whetting the appetite of those attending the British Automobile Racing Club run event.

The two 600bhp, 200mph Jaguars were tested by a variety of drivers over the course of the weekend, coached by experienced Series Elite instructor, Ray Grimes. One such driver, familiar to many, was former Vic Lee Motorsport boss, Vic Lee – the Corbeau Seats Managing Director getting some miles in.

Alongside the cars themselves the series’ showcased the hospitality that will be on offer for series’ partners, drivers and their friends and family to enjoy during the course of the season.

Series Elite founder, Graeme Glew commented; “Despite some of the delays we have recently incurred which were out of our control, we wanted to ensure the public and our sponsors got at least a taste of things to come, so thanks to The BARC for providing track time for us to introduce our cars.

“We have more cars arriving every day and a growing number of engaging drivers. We will have 6 cars on the grid for Silverstone on June 1st/2nd where I’m convinced we will see some competitive racing”
